Meet Your Teachers!

Angelena Sweet: E-RYT® 500, RCYT®, RPYT®, YACEP®
Angie (she/her) is an Adaptive Yoga instructor, teacher trainer, an international retreat leader with a focus in pre and postnatal yoga, childrens, yin yoga, and vinyasa.  She has been teaching pre and postnatal yoga classes since 2015 and started teaching yoga in austin in 2013. Her goal is to hold an inclusive space for her students to show up as they are and offer options that make the practice accessible for every student.

Maggie Anbalagan: E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, RPYT®, YACEP®

Maggie holds RYT-500 credentials through Practice Yoga (Austin, Texas) and her Prenatal training through Yoga Yoga (also in Austin). She has been teaching since 2016. She also completed her 300-hr training while pregnant with her first child, which provided even more intimate insight into how yoga can be accessible and supportive during the physical, emotional and spiritual transition to motherhood. Her classes are approachable but not afraid of hard work. They create community through shared breath and practice, while also honoring the unique experience of each body present. Maggie weaves flow with alignment yoga in a way that takes students deeper into their practice mindfully and purposefully. In every class you can expect to be guided towards the truest teacher that lives within yourself.

Maggie has always found healing through physical movement. She has been a runner, cyclist, strength trainer and sweat-seeker for much of her life. But yoga was her first encounter with movement that was integrated with breath in a way that unlocked a deeper layer of self-awareness and discovery. Yoga challenged her in new ways both physically and mentally, but it also gave her permission to simply be as she was. This kind of true embodiment and acceptance is a gift she seeks to share with her students.

Join us for an in-person 85-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training where we will deep-dive into the many facets of pregnancy, birth, and how yoga can support people in this transformational phase of life. Whether you are a yoga teacher, birth worker, or simply hoping to find tools for your own personal journey, this training will provide practical knowledge of yoga asana, breathwork and meditation to support pregnancy and birthing people. From understanding the anatomical and physical changes of pregnancy in all trimesters, to learning appropriate adaptations to meet pregnant practitioners where they are, you will learn how to create safe, supportive and empowering sequences. And since pregnancy is so much more than just a physical experience, since the breadth and depth of the emotional, psychological and spiritual shifts are just as important and sacred as what is happening in the body, we will also dedicate time to learning trauma-informed awareness and how to hold safe space for the entirety of one's experience. In this training, you will be both supported and challenged to uncover your own unique voice and gifts, and how you are called to share those with the birthing community.
